How

It was discovered that the glass seed beads, readily available for arts and crafts, can be easily melted with a butane torch.

Interesting effects can be achieved with threading beads onto a suitable wire (preoxidized copper works best, stainless steel is also usable), then carefully melting them together.

The glass has however tendency to have its own will; when sufficiently softened, it changes shape on its own due to its surface tension. This can cause the material to bunch up - which can be undesirable or beneficial, depending on the specific design.

Cloudy drops

Drop-shaped, made of glass (usually) without the internal metal structure, using a special milky glass (opaque white glass turned transparent with high heat, then cooled so the opacity is regained only partially). Images shown in pairs, of one and the other side, as they markedly differ due to asymmetry of the glass patterns.
