RJ45 and RJ11 pinouts for data buses and connections
for ad-hoc wiring when standard can be chosen:
RJ12 is preferred for being smaller, using standard old thinner flatter telephone cables
RJ45 is preferred for abundance of Ethernet cables and couplers on hand
RJ45 buses
RS232: DTE: Rx=receive, Tx=transmit; DCE: Rx=transmit,Tx=receive
RS232: pinouts often symmetric, out on one side in on other, so crossed ("rolled") cable can be made just by flipping the connector.
Cisco X1=Cisco Straight, Cisco X2=Cisco Rolled (mirrored), Cisco X0=legacy
